Kauntodaun Facts: Pricing, Limits and Company

What it is: An animated countdown GIF generator for email. The GIF is rendered on the server every time the email is opened and shows the time left at that moment.
Name and domain: Kauntodaun, at kauntodaun.com. It used to be ContadorParaEmail, at contadorparaemail.com; that domain still serves the GIFs in emails already sent and redirects everything else here.
Name origin: Kauntodaun is カウントダウン, Japanese for "countdown", spelled the way it sounds. Say it "KOWN-toh-down": out loud, it sounds like countdown.
Who it is for: Online stores, marketing teams and agencies sending emails with a deadline: sales, launches, webinars, coupons.
Price: Free with no signup. Starter: $7 a month or $70 a year (6 € or 60 € plus VAT in euros). Pro: $22 a month or $220 a year (19 € or 190 € plus VAT). Business: custom. The first 100 paying customers get 50% off for life.
Included impressions: No account: 25,000 a month per timer, unbranded. Free account: 50,000 a month. Starter: 200,000. Pro: 1,000,000. Business: 5,000,000+. A paid timer is never cut off for going over.
Timer types: Fixed date (free), per-recipient evergreen and daily or weekly recurring (from Starter).
Customization: 11 styles (5 free and 6 on Pro), 30 fonts, labels in 9 languages or typed by hand, colors, transparent background, visible units and an end text.
Email platforms: Any platform that lets you insert an image or an HTML block. There are guides for Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Shopify Email, Brevo, Mailjet, ActiveCampaign, Omnisend, MailerLite and Kit.
Email apps: Animated in Apple Mail, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Outlook on the web, Samsung Email and Thunderbird. Some older versions of Outlook for Windows only show the first frame, with the right time at the moment of opening.
Technical format: An animated GIF served from each timer's own URL. The email carries no JavaScript. The copied HTML escapes & in src as & and sets the background color on the table and the cell.
Privacy: No analytics or advertising cookies. Impressions are counted per timer and per hour. Recipients' email addresses are never stored: in evergreen timers the identifier is stored as a hash.
Usage: More than 1.4 million GIFs served since March 2026 (as of October 1, 2026, counted by the engine itself).
